There are gaps in the areas of expertise covered by “core” team members/governance proposals. The gaps are dynamic and need filling to different degrees at different times.

I’ve been a Crown hodler since November 2017. In October 2018, with time on my hands, I stepped up to help out with testing MN-PoS. Since then I’ve stepped up to help out with anything else I’m able to. In the last month those things included:
    • Research the feasibility of HackerOne providing NFT (adversarial/vulnerability) testing. They didn't respond to my inquiry and with the current depressed Crown price we probably couldn't afford to join their bounty program.
    • CrownSight (explorer) testing. Opened 4 Gitlab issues.
    • Implemented Discord Gitlab-Updater bot to facilitate increased community participation in Gitlab.
    • Researched the Indodax exchange community coin-listing vote. Not worth bothering about. We'd need to spend >$250k to be in with a chance of winning a round.
    • Pushed the Crown PoS (Iquidus) explorer into the limelight (https://iquidus-01.crown.tech/).
    • Weekly updates of the Crown blockchain bootstrap. Even now, the bootstrap is being downloaded about a dozen times a week.
    • Daily presence in Discord providing support/assistance across all channels.
    • 5 new Medium articles.
    • unfork tool.
    • Identified 2 Crown core code bugs, opened Gitlab issues #321 and #322.
    • Submitted merge request for Gitlab issue #323.
    •

My project goals are to continue in the same vein. I’ve been investing over 100 hours per month in Crown for the last 9 months. I mainly do it because I enjoy it. If the community think it’s useful effort then it would be fitting to receive some reward for it.

Ambition/Intention
The project is ongoing. It has already provided assistance to multiple operational areas, eg; development, testing, documentation, communication, support, infrastructure. It will continue to do so whenever/wherever I notice a need that I am qualified to address.

These are some of the WIP/possible tasks:
    • continue creating weekly updates of the bootstrap
    • more Medium articles including a series of FAQ posts
    • more improvements to the update/installation script
    • new "helper" scripts for various tasks
    • continued Discord presence

Proposal timetable and turning point(s)
The proposal will be resubmitted each month for as long as I have an interest in Crown and the community find it useful. This third proposal retroactively covers May-June 2019.

Acceptance criteria
Project is ongoing and the product will vary from month to month (eg: Medium articles, Discord activity, Gitlab contributions). Voters may judge it a success if they feel any aspect of it has personally benefited them or they can see it has benefited others or the Crown project.

Risks
None; payment is in arrears for effort I have already made. If the community think it was valuable they may choose to reward it.

Funding requirements
Proposal is for 2000 CRW, paid in arrears for the period May-June 2019.

The amount is not tied to any fiat conversion rate. 5 successful proposals will allow me to accumulate enough CRW for a masternode.

Communication
Communication will be through Medium, Discord and Gitlab. I have been, and expect to be present in at least one of those media every single day.

Additional comments
I’m a stay-at-home dad with a 1-year old son and a professional background in software engineering. I have a lot of “free” time but a lot of distractions/interruptions too. I can’t commit to a fixed number of hours, or working times per day. However, I am generally available several hours per day, 7 days a week.
My physical location in SE Asia enhances the decentralisation of the Crown project by providing coverage in time zone UTC+7, complementing other team members in Europe, Australia/New Zealand and the Americas.

    • research into Phantom nodes (no immediate threat)
    • research into the possibility of a Crown Wikipedia entry (not viable)
    • completed the overhaul of the BitcoinTalk forum ANN post
    • contacted hackerone regarding audit/testing of the NFT framework

There are gaps in the areas of expertise covered by “core” team members/governance proposals. The gaps are dynamic and need filling to different degrees at different times.

I’ve been a Crown hodler since November 2017. In October 2018, with time on my hands, I stepped up to help out with testing MN-PoS. Since then I’ve stepped up to help out with anything else I’m able to, including:
  • submitting enhancements to the upgrade process
  • managing/co-ordinating much of the PoS testnet
  • documenting testnet procedures and helping other testers get setup
  • writing the release notes for the v0.13 “Jade” release
  • providing technical support in Discord, especially since Jade release
  • writing Medium articles under Crownplatform banner
  • updating the bootstrap

My project goals are to continue in the same vein. I’ve been investing over 100 hours per month in Crown for the last 6 months. I do it because I enjoy it. If the community think it’s useful effort it then it would be fitting to receive some reward for it.

Ambition/Intention
The project is ongoing. It has already provided assistance to multiple operational areas, eg; development, testing, documentation, communication, support, infrastructure. It will continue to do so whenever/wherever I notice a need that I am qualified to address.

There is no commitment to (attempt to) cover all the perceived gaps.

My physical location in SE Asia enhances the decentralisation of the Crown project by providing coverage in timezone UTC+7, complementing other team members in Europe, Australia/New Zealand and the Americas.

Proposal timetable and turning point(s)
The proposal will be ongoing for as long as I have an interest in Crown and believe it is a project worthy of my active participation. This initial proposal retroactively covers October 2018-PoS activation in April 2019.

Proposal is for 2000 CRW, paid in arrears for the period October 2018-April 2019. If this proposal passes the next one will cover work performed in the current superblock period (block height 2332801-2376000, approximately 15 April 2019-16 May 2019).

The amount is not tied to any fiat conversion rate. 5 successful proposals will allow me to accumulate enough CRW for a masternode.

Communication
Communication will be through Medium, Discord and Gitlab. I have been, and expect to be present in at least one of those media every single day.
A summary of completed/WIP/planned “products” will be included in future proposals.

There is a Tapatalk plugin for SimpleMachines fora. Details at https://tapatalk.com/download_SimpleMachines.php

I don't like to use Tapatalk for posting but it's good for reading.

I'll look into this, thanks :)
I take it this didn't happen? When I search in Tapatalk for Crown there are no results...

Official Announcements / Re: Crown Proof-of-Stake development commences!
« on: September 09, 2018, 03:18:04 pm »
Maybe I've just not looked in the right place but I haven't seen many details of how PoS is expected to work. I gather the staking will take place only in SNs and MNs; not in wallets.

Which is nice in that there is no requirement to keep a wallet open just for staking (although it could have been a nice use of a CrownPi). But, does it mean ONLY node collateral will be staked? What happens if someone has more CRW than they want to tie up in nodes? Or not quite enough CRW to buy their first (or next) node? Nodes are cheap right now, but hopefully won't be in the future. It would be nice to be able to earn staking rewards on all CRW, not only those locked in nodes.

What is the plan for reward distribution after PoS kicks in? Will the current miner portion be split evenly between all nodes, added evenly to the SN:MN split, all reallocated to governance, something else?

Proposals / Budget / Re: CROWN POSITIONING
« on: August 03, 2018, 04:20:50 pm »
Thanks for the reply. Hopefully actual MN owners will find it helpful. Will most suppliers be paid in fiat or CRW? It would be nice if you could seed the community/ecosystem before the students even develop any projects, especially as it will be months before any student projects are up and running.

« on: August 03, 2018, 11:29:12 am »
I don't have a MN so won't be voting, but even at the current low price, those seem like large asks. $1050 for 2 roll-up banners, some flyers and stickers and 3 dozen T-shirts? Hard to believe stuff costs that much more in Nigeria than Cambodia where that lot would probably cost about $300. 3 hall hire sessions for $800? What exactly is $600 worth of camp evangelism registration? $600 for 3 months internet?

It's not a bad proposal, but personally, I'd want to see a much more detailed justification for those amounts.

Presumably, there's some wiggle room built in to cover the possibility of the CRW price falling further before you spend it? Or are you planning to pay suppliers in CRW? If the price goes up and/or there's any left over at the end of 3 months how will it be used?

How long should the confirmation email take? Signed up yesterday, got nothing, asked for a resend, still got nothing.

I've put fin/Josh on the case!
Still no confirmation email...

Wallet / Exchange / Re: error: {"code":-28,"message":"Loading wallet..."}
« on: January 04, 2018, 01:15:58 am »
I have installed the crown wallet on a raspberry pi 3.
more than 3 hours after executing crownd & I still get the following error:

error: {"code":-28,"message":"Loading wallet..."}

How long does it take for the wallet to syncronize? And how can I check the status?
The only thing I see in the debug.log are scrolling messages like this:

2018-01-01 13:45:29 UpdateTip: new best=0000000000359382604ed3a632919ec91a5e86ae6683a2e33d57eefc62df87e9  height=70483  log2_work=52.020568  tx=70663  date=2014-10-10 13:37:08 progress=0.006672  cache=9.0MiB(38010tx)
As long as the block height (70483 above) is increasing you're doing ok. It's got to get to 960809 as I write this so you can expect  it to run for many more hours yet. If it's linear your initial blockchain download could take about 48 hours. So it's probably done by now...

Perhaps you could let us know how long it actually took and what your internet connection speed is, might be helpful for others.

Ideas / Re: [Idea] Proposal fee refund / static fiat amount for a proposal
« on: December 28, 2017, 01:27:08 am »
Adding the fee to the proposal means unsuccessful proposals will still have to pay the 25 CRW. A dynamic CRW fee equivalent to an arbitrary fiat amount seems like a better solution. Fiat isn't going away any time soon and it provides a much more stable reference than any crypto currency.

Do you have Tapatalk integration? I can't see it when I search in the app but it may be a problem with the app on my phone....
